The art historian behind Libations & Learning
Dr. Anik Waldeck

Hi! I'm Anik. I'm an art historian and educator, and I've always believed that expert-led learning should feel accessible, engaging and alive, far beyond the walls of a classroom.

I grew up in Vancouver, spent most of my university years abroad and — after some blood, sweat and tears — earned my PhD from the University of Cambridge. Somewhere along the way I became convinced that the best intellectual conversations happen not in lecture halls, but in the kinds of places where people are relaxed enough to actually engage. A bar, as it turns out, is one of them.

I created Libations & Learning because I wanted that experience here, in my city, for the curious, knowledge-hungry Vancouverites I know are out there. Something social but stimulating, relaxed but genuinely enriching. An evening worth showing up for.
